The House of Commons Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee has yesterday published a report on the digital economy. The Report makes a number of recommendations for the government. The Committee has requested that the government publish its digital strategy and to explain how the digital strategy will be affected by Brexit.
The Committee has also requested that details of any current EU negotiations relating to the digital economy are soon disclosed.
The government's digital strategy, which should address the next five years strategic objectives, is expected to be published this Autumn.

The government should provide greater clarity on the regulation of the digital economy, recommends the Common’s BIS Select Committee report on the Digital Economy. According to the report, the government should explore new regulatory opportunities that exist within the current digital framework in an attempt to ensure that appropriate regulation is in place to support and encourage innovative uses of technology.
